Sending in a FastClose Server Log

Sending in a FastClose Server Log

It can often be useful to check the FastClose Server log when diagnosing an issue and FastClose Support may ask you for this.

Upload the Log from the Admin Web App

If you have an administrative login for FastClose and are using version 3.2 or later, you can upload the log to FastClose via the Administration web app, typically found at http://yourfastcloseservername:5101 for on-premise deployments.

After logging in, expand the 'System' menu option on the left and click on 'Setup'. Scroll down to the Logging section and click on the 'Upload Logs' button:

This will automatically upload recent log entries to a secure storage area maintained by FastClose in Azure. Let FastClose Support know that you have done this so that they can retrieve the file.

The file may include user names, PC names, report and folder names. If this is not acceptable, please use one of the methods below, which allow you to review and censor the data before sending.

Querying the Log from the Admin Web App

If you have an administrative login for FastClose, you can query the log via the Administration web app, typically found at http://yourfastcloseservername:5101 for on-premise deployments.

  1. After logging in, click the Event Log icon in the Home page. If this icon is not there in your version of FastClose, you can also find Event Log under the 'System' entry in the left-hand navigation menu.

If you have an on-premise deployment of FastClose, you may be able to query the log from the Designer desktop client as well.

  1. In the Administration tab of the ribbon, click View Log.

  2. The FastClose Event Log report will open and automatically run with the current day as its Date selection.
