The FastClose Designer Application is the tool used to create all reporting content, whether to be consumed within the Designer itself, the various Reader Apps or live in the Excel Addin.
The FastClose Designer main screen is split into three main areas:
The Control Ribbon Area at the top that provides access to FastClose features, organised into several tabs of related items, such as:
The Layout tab with features to shape and "organise" the report
The Insert tab that provides access to FastClose powerful value add design features such as Subtotals, Calculations, Hierarchies and more
The Formatting tab to enable the user to format the report exactly as they wish
and the Advanced tab for even more.
As you progress through these tutorials you will cover most of the different features available in this ribbon area.
The Filter Selector Area is the part of the interface that the user interacts with to select and restrict the data to be displayed and analysed in the report.
The Data Grid Area primarily displays the report itself but also through the use of a "right click" menu provides both quick report design short cuts as well as the ability to select a cell and drill through to related reports based on it
