3.3.x - Upgrade Guide

If you are upgrading from a version earlier than 3.2 please first consult the 3.2.x Upgrade Guide.

There are no new or updated pre-requisites for 3.3.

FastClose Server Settings

Catalog Overrides

Catalog override files are now required to reside within a single folder which by default is C:\ProgramData\FastClose\CatalogOverrides but can be overridden in app settings using CatalogOverridesUploadPath. If you have any override files they will need to be moved to ProgramData (recommended) or the app setting changed.

There are changes to the internal format of catalog override files which means that FastClose Support will need to update them for you before they can be used with version 3.3. Please get in touch before carrying out your upgrade and we will be happy to assist with this.

Password Policy Settings

If you have customized the password policy, locate the file which contains your custom settings. By default, the file is C:\Program Files\FastClose\FastCloseServer\accountsecuritypolicysettings.json. You can also locate it by reading the entry AccountSecurityPolicySettingsFile within either the appsettings.customer.json file (first) or the appsettings.json file (second) in the FastClose Server installation folder.

Move this file to C:\ProgramData\FastClose\accountsecuritypolicysettings.json.

The password policy can now be configured using a page in the Admin web app so you should not need to manually edit the file in future.

App Settings

In most cases, delete the file appsettings.customer.json if it exists, from the FastClose Server installation folder. The only reason to create that file now is for setting a custom catalog override path or network port number, which are rarely done. For a custom port number, see Customizing the FastClose Network Listening Port.

Deployment over IIS
