So, to add to a connection to a new Epicor Cloud Instance as a data source , click “Create New Data Source" and choose "Epicor API Data Source". This will display a page similar to the one below:
There are a number of these fields that are a little tricky and need to be retrieved from or set up in the Epicor Public Cloud Instance. If unsure as to how to do this, full instructions here will enable you to find the information you need to fill in the connection information to connect to your Epicor Cloud Instance. The fields are:
Name
The name of the connection, the best practice is to name the connection to match your database name or company name that the database relates to.
API Endpoint URL
The endpoint URL for your Epicor Public Cloud instance, typically similar to https://xyz.epicorsaas.com/saas123
.
API Key
An authentication security key that can be created within the Epicor administration interface and pasted here. Effectively, this is an application password.
Default Company
Specify a default company, largely ignored but required.
Username
The name of an Epicor login, also created within the Epicor administration interface and pasted here.
Password
The password of the Epicor login
You can test the connection information to see if all is in order. If there are any errors, a message will appear that should help diagnose it. Click the “Save” button to save your changes.
